Weekly Update from your local Radford NPT
Dear Members
Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
What’s Been Happening
Op Advance On Monday your neighbourhood officers assisted with Operation Advance which is a day of action across the city with specialist police units and other partner agencies to tackle priority crimes. As a part of this operation, we visited local businesses and patrolled parks across the four wards where recent ASB has been reported. Some members of the team also took part in Servator as they have been especially trained along with other officers to spot the signs of hostile reconnaissance and suspicious activity. During their patrols two persons were arrested for possession with intent to supply. Servator officers will be out and about this weekend for Godiva.
Awareness We have received a report of a rogue gardener. Please do not use a company that is going door to door scouting for work. Such companies that use this method often sell goods or services that are either not delivered or as in this case, very poor quality. To find a vetted gardener, you can use Age UK (Coventry) and Trading Standards Trusted Trader Schemes.
Welfare Following a welfare call regarding a male found in bushes, officers attended and thankfully the male was found to be well and just having a rest. We will always respond where there is a call of concern. Thank you to the that resident for letting us know.
Vehicle crime Vehicle crime is one of the teams’ priorities and we endeavour to prevent it happening through a variety of methods. It is not just your local team trying to deter, our Roads Policing Unit have also been patrolling and spotted a vehicle at speed. The vehicle was found parked up and recovered as it had been stolen a few days before from Canley. Other vehicles recovered include three stolen motorbikes and a Toyota.
Other news We were made aware of what appeared to be the theft of charity bags being put into a van. The van was located and a search was conducted at a linked address. We are pleased to report that nothing was found and nothing untoward as first thought, but we would rather check it out.
Hot weather alert As the temperature is set to rise over the coming days, keep hydrated and out of the sun at peak times. If you are attending the Godiva festival this weekend, make sure you keep your belongings safe and report any suspicious activity.
Crime figures Over the past nine days on the Radford ward, there has been one theft from motor vehicle on LINKS ROAD (number plates stolen) and one theft of vehicle from THREE SPIRES AVENUE. Over the same time period, there has been three residential burglaries on RADFORD ROAD, DRAPERS FIELDS and THE MOORINGS.
Until next week Stay safe everyone.
